GO GORAKHPUR: The GDA demolished the residence of Mafia Rakesh Yadav in Jhungia Bazar of Gulriha by running a bulldozer on Tuesday. Earlier, the administration had demolished the buildings of mafia Ajit Shahi and Vinod Upadhyay. There are 52 cases registered against Rakesh. His name is in the top ten of the district and 61st in the state in the mafia list. In this regard, SP North Manoj Awasthi said to the media that the houses of the mafia have been demolished as per the rules of the GDA. Further action is going on. No rules have been violated.
On Tuesday morning, GDA Chief Engineer Kishan Singh, ACM Second Rajeev Kumar along with Superintendent of Police North Manoj Kumar Awasthi, ASP Manush Parikh along with a large number of police force and PAC reached the spot and took action. A few days back, the Gulriha police had written a letter to the GDA to investigate Rakesh Yadav’s Jhungia house. It was asked whether the house has been built according to the measurements and maps or not? Till the GDA investigated, the matter went from the DM court to the commissioner’s court for hearing.
After getting the green signal from the commissioner’s court, the GDA, along with the police force, razed Rakesh’s building to the ground on Tuesday by running a bulldozer. GDA Chief Engineer Kishan Singh said that the house was built by Rakesh Yadav on 450 square meters of 650 square meters of land. The estimated value of this property is Rs 4.5 crores. None of its approved maps was presented, nor were concrete documents of the land presented. In this context, notice was issued on 29 May 2023.
During the demolition of the house, Rakesh’s wife Anita Yadav said that she did not receive any notice before the bulldozers arrived. On Tuesday suddenly GDA officials along with the force came to the residence and after getting the house vacated, demolished the house. Anita told the demolition team that she has children, where should she go with them. She said that the building was built 40 years ago by his late father-in-law. Some parts were constructed 4-5 years back. This is an ancestral building, Rakesh’s brother Yogesh Yadav and Chandrashekhar Yadav also have a share in it. His entire family also lives in this house. Anita said that she will seek justice from the High Court against this injustice.
Mafia Rakesh Yadav is still in jail: Rakesh’s bail was taken by Ramlal Yadav, a resident of Ghunghun Kotha in Tiwaripur, in a case of conspiracy and attempt to murder registered at Chiluatal police station in the year 2019. But he took back his bail. After that Rakesh appeared in the court on 3 June. The court sent him to jail. Presently 52 cases are registered against Rakesh.
Rakesh came into limelight after the murder of former MLA Om Prakash: Rakesh was an accused in the Omprakash Paswan murder case. Then he was working as a mediator in buying and selling land. In December 2022, he was sent to Deoria for 6 months as Jilabadar criminal. Presently he is in top 61 mafia of UP and top ten list of the district. According to people, he had a dispute with Maniram’s MLA Omprakash Paswan regarding the construction of this land and house. Omprakash had slapped Rakesh’s father during the panchayat. Since then the enmity started. Later, during the Lok Sabha elections in Bansgaon, Omprakash was killed by a bomb. Rakesh Yadav’s name came in the headlines in that murder case. But at present he has been acquitted of this murder case.
6 The blanket team was deployed: During the demolition, if any woman or other man tried to set fire, the blanket team was deployed to cover it. A female soldier was stationed behind each woman. Along with this, PAC and police were deployed at every nook and corner in the village so that nothing untoward happens.
